Landhaus live! – Nearly 20,000 young visitors

The "Landhaus live!" initiative was launched by State Governor Sausgruber in 2000. By visiting the Landhaus (seat of the State Government), schoolchildren, apprentices and youth organizations are provided with the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the workings of the State Government, the Landtag (State Assembly) and the administrative authorities. Since the launch of the initiative, nearly 20,000 young people have taken part. According to Sausgruber, "Democracy cannot be taken for granted. It is therefore important to stimulate interest and curiosity about politics among young people." In addition to group visits, the "Landhaus live!" initiative also provides schools and youth organizations with the opportunity to present projects as part of an exhibition housed in the entrance lobby to the Landhaus.
