Development of rail traffic between Bavaria, the Vorarlberg and St. Gallen was at the centre of a meeting of the relevant Members of Government in Lindau. State Councillor Manfred Rein registered a very positive attitude on the part of neighbouring states with regard to two matters which are of particular importance for the Vorarlberg - harmonisation of rail travel between Bregenz and Lindau and further development of the rail link between Lauterach and St. Margrethen. Bavaria considers it very important that trains from Austria and Switzerland travel regularly through to Lindau. And improvement of the slow stretch between Lauterach and St. Margrethen has top priority within an agreement between the Traffic Ministries of Switzerland and Austria, as it already has in the Austrian General Transportation Plan.
